Wrong order of PostalCode and Place in Dutch address from Contacts

In the Netherlands the order is: postalcode (4 number, space, two letters) followed by place. If I create a contact in the Contact app of Apple that is the order and it is displayed correct.
In ContactApp:
8900 JA Leeuwarden

If I pick this contact for an invoice SubTotal turns it around: place followed by postalcode.
In SubTotal:
Leeuwarden 8900 JA

I use layout no 1

This is incorrect and I can only solve it by entering it in the wrong way in the Apple ContactApp.

I tried to reproduce this as follows:

set macOS system language to Dutch
Set up company contact with street:

This is how it shows in the app after selecting:

SubTotal just takes the address line as returned from the Apple API: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/contacts/cnpostaladdressformatter/string(from:)?language=objc
It might depend on your system language how this line is formatted. What is your macOS system language? What "address format" setting do you have in your Contacts App?

System language is Dutch.

The adress format is:

It is grey, but after Thuis: it is,
Street (street)
postcode (postalcode) plaats (place)

That is the correct format: first pc the place.

I have tried other app's to extract contacts form Apple Contact and the do not switch pc and place.

I know Google Contact is a little bit messy with contact formats and that is why I made the contacts for SubTotal not in Google Contacts but in Apple Contacts; saved in iCloud. So everything is made and used in the Apple universe.

BTW there is also a problem with picking the name (first line) from Apple Contacts.

So: conclusion, not flawless cooperation between SubTotal and native Apple apps. That is common in the Apple universe. I will not use Apple Contacts.

I think i now know what the problem is. In the Apple Contact you showed the postcode is positioned after the place. That is wrong and SubTotal, if in Dutch settings, switches it to correct it. But if Apple Contacts is in the Dutch settings the order is correct: first postcode and then place. So Subtotal does not need to correct it; it is correct in Apple Contacts.

martenbosma SubTotal does not manually switch out the order. It uses the API I mentioned above and simply uses the exact text ("The formatted postal address") that is returned from that API.

Ok. But the next things I can show it with a screenshots if necessary.

a. in my Dutch system setting for Apple Contact the pc comes before place (8900 JA Leeuwarden)
b. in Apple Mail it is possible to paste a contact from Apple Contact in the mailmessage (right click, fill automaticly, use contact, pick a contact, pick address
c. in message: pc is placed before place -> 8900 JA Leeuwarden as in Apple Contacts
d. if I pick the same contact from Apple Contact in SubTotal the place is placed before pc: Leeuwarden 8900 JA

So: using Apple Contacts with Apple Mail: right order, using Apple Contacts with SubTotal: wrong order

I am really sorry, SubTotal is a very fine app and I will keep using it but this does not meet the Dutch address format.
