Let’s start with the bad news. Right now, I asked a friend of mine who works in a management position at the Ministry of Finance and used to work at a tax office. A complete sequence of invoice serial numbers is mandatory. I think that problem should and could be solved.
Otherwise, it’s only a problem if someone also uses the app for quotes.
The suggested separation would solve some conflicts in a rather clever way. Hence the idea of adding a „Quotes“ item under „Invoices“ in the left sidebar.
If quotes and invoices are separated in the app, there’s no need to add a prompt. Users can stick to their introductions, details, whatever. It keeps the app lean and simple.
Yes, automatically generated serial numbers of quotes and invoices.
If I had in the left sidebar Q and I separated, I would always get separated serial numbers (Q 1, Q2… and I1, I2…) That would simply solve the problem of invoice numbers being assigned without gaps when customers reject some quotes.
Otherwise, I send I1, I2, I6, I9, I11 etc. (paid invoices) to the tax office when Q3, Q4, Q5, Q7… are rejected (no invoice). Undoubtedly, the financial auditor would come up with serious questions.
Last point. You're welcome. Done in the App Store.
