"Nummernkreis" for Invoices / Offers

using SubTutal 1.5.85 in my mac.

2 questions / ideas:

I use to types of "invoices": one for real invoices, one for offers. When a offer becomes an invoice, the number stays the same. is there a way to update it to the "latest" invoice nr?
related to this, a bit of a work arount - can i sort the invoices by number? this would help me find the latest number...

What number should it change to? Can you give a more complete example about how you name your invoices and offers?
Are you using a naming scheme like "IN_123" for invoices and "O_123" for offers that are each incrementing separately?
Are you keeping old offers that were rejected and are just changing the invoice type for those offers that were accepted to the invoice type?
