Email not shown on PDF

I noticed in an information field that when you add an email address to a customer’s address, it does not appear on the PDF. Instead, it is used for the “email PDF” function. This is unfortunate, as I would like to have both options. Would it be possible to create a toggle box that, when enabled, ensures the email address is displayed on the PDF?

I assume you are referring to the info field in the e-invoice dialog. The email is recognized and used in the context of e-invoice generation (so that you don't have to always enter the customer email manually).

However, in the PDF invoice, the email is removed on purpose, because I think it generally isn't desired to include it there. There also is a tooltop info telling that the email won't appear on the PDF invoice:

I don't want to add any toggle box because that would just make the user interface more complicated. But maybe we find another way to allow to make this adjustable without any new UI control?
For example, the email is only recognized if there is no other text in that address line. You could enter the email like "Email: my@mail.com" and then it's not removed from the PDF

timo I came here looking for how to include the email, and the client phone number, on the PDF invoice as well.

It serves two purposes: 1st, it lets the client know that I have their correct A/R information. 2nd, I can immediately see what email address to send the invoice to (I don't always use the built-in email function because I send multiple invoices to the same customer in a single email). Likewise, if the customer asks for a different address to be used, the historical invoices show where they were sent before it was change.

Could you perhaps have a set of fields for the customer contact that's separate from the mailing address, which should not be cluttered with not postal data? Like, Contact Name / Email / Phone number.

That can be a solution, but in the PDF can it be shown as my@mail.com only?

Huub Currently, if there is a line with only the email in the client address field, that line would be removed in the PDF. You might be able to workaround that to include that line twice. But I wonder: Is it common to include the email of the client in the invoice for the client? I've never seen that personally. Why would this be important?

ich habe zum Thema Email Adresse im Client Feld auch eine Frage.
Ich verstehe das so, wenn ich im Client Feld eine Email Adresse eingebe, wird diese in der PDF Ansicht nicht angezeigt, was auch soweit klappt.
Allerdings soll diese Email dann für ein Email Programm automatisch hinterlegt sein, sobald ich auf PDF Mailen gehe?
Leider klappt dieses nicht in meinem Email Programm.
Ich nutze Mac OS und das Mail Programm.

Muss ich hier noch was beachten ?

Desweiteren ist auch ein Fehler im Rechnungsdatum, dieses wird nicht als Bspl. 01.02.2025 angezeigt sondern als

2 .2025

Oder soll die Darstellung so sein mit jeweils einem Freizeichen ?

Yes this should be the case, at least for when mailing XML e-invoices.
It should also work for mailing PDFs, but there was a bug I just recently fixed - the fix might not be in the version you are currently using, but it should work with the next app update (v1.5.67).

I am using the macOS NSDatePicker control for displaying the date and macOS "decides" on what format it uses to display the date. I assume the space is that the year doesnt shift left and right when changing the date to a day or month that has two digits.
What is the problem with "1.2.2025"? In the PDFs, the date should be formatted according to the langauge you set in your invoice type.

Tim Thanks for laying out your use-case. I completely understand.
Like with many, if not most other feature requests, it comes down to offer more input fields. And with more input fields, there comes more UI problems and a more cluttered UI interface. If I added input fields for every single data point, the app wouldn't be the same. SubTotal aims to keep that minimalistic approach. I am looking for solutions that don't require additional input fields instead. Maybe you have one in mind?
