Currency sign doesn't show on PDF invoices

Hi Timo,

unfortunately the currency sign doesn't show on my PDF invoices. According to my settings the currency sign (€) is supposed to be used. Yet it doesn't show. I can only see it in the backend, but in the PDF it's gone. Even if I add the currency sign by hand in one of the text boxes, I can see it in the backend, but it doesn't show in the PDF. If I change the settings to currency code (EUR), however, that gets displayed. Here's some screenshots of that:

What am I doing wrong? Because I'd rather use the sign instead of the code. Can you help, please?

What font are you using? One of the built-in ones or a custom one? If you are using a custom one, it's very likely that the font just doesn't include that sign

Actually, it's an included Apple font, and I've been using it for many years. But I just checked the font collection, and the whole font is gone. Weird. Thank you so much for your quick help!

Hi Timo, sorry, I've checked it again, the Apple font I'm using in SubTotal is still there after all. And the € sign shows in every other program I use, in the program as well as in generated PDFs. SubTotal is the only program where it doesn't show. You're saying it doesn't show up because I'm not using the fonts you've built into SubTotal, right? So, do I understand you correctly, that I can't use this font, unless I use the currency code instead of the sign?

I don't know what "Apple font" you are referring to. Why do you need to use that particular one? Can you send it to me via mail so that I can have a closer look?

Thanks for your quick reply! It's Apple SD Gothic Neo, and I'm using it because it's part of my company's corporate identity.

Thanks for the file. I created a bug report with the developer of the PDF component I am using. let's see what they say...

I have received this response, which confirms what I suspected:

Upon conducting a more detailed analysis of the issue at hand, we have discovered that the provided font, AppleSDGothicNeo, does not include the glyph necessary to represent the euro (€) symbol. As a result of this limitation, the euro symbol fails to render correctly when attempting to draw the string within a PDF document.

Also, I would advise against using such a large .tcc file (which is a font collection of - in this case 18 - different fonts). The file is part of the database and is uploaded/downloaded on every sync.
